Program Description

The Police Foundations program at Sheridan College provides students with the knowledge and skills needed for a career in law enforcement. The curriculum covers key areas such as criminal law, policing practices, criminology, and community policing. Students learn about the Canadian legal system, ethics in policing, and techniques for effective communication and conflict resolution. The program also includes physical fitness training, preparing students for the physical demands of a policing career. Through practical placements and simulations, students gain hands-on experience in policing scenarios. Graduates are well-prepared to pursue careers in municipal, provincial, or federal law enforcement agencies, as well as in private security or correctional services.
